Entertainment has always been such a big focal point for many events, but how does this work in the new world of virtual events?

Here at Premier, we have been exploring the concept of virtual event entertainment and how this can be best used for any virtual event do add something new and exciting to what for many people may find hard to get used to.

We put virtual event entertainment to the test on one of our recent events, which included three different forms of entertainment. To be able to offer a more personal and impactful performance, we created virtual tables using the P-VENT platform. This allowed guests to have one to one conversation with the people on their tables, as they would any normal event. We then sourced several magicians and a band to pop into tables 5 minutes at a time to offer some form of entertainment whilst guests enjoyed their meals.

Adding the acts to each of the breakout rooms really helped break the ice by adding an interactive element, whilst also offering great entertainment. For our event of 200 people, we hired three magicians to wow the guests, each entering a different table, and giving them 5 minutes of magic.

Our event management team created a table map to ensure that all tables were visited, as well as making sure that no more then one magician was in one room at any time. We created fun and exciting backdrops that went behind each of the magicians to add the wow factor to their shows, by using our shimmer walls, filament lamps and any props that the client has used at previous events. This helped tie the whole event together, whilst giving a professional, high-end feel.

Alongside the magicians, we also hired a rambling band to entertain the guests in their breakout rooms. The rambling band worked great as a form of digital entertainment, as they were able to take requests from the guests live, adding an interactive element to the performance. The band performed 5 minutes per table, and played on stage, in our studio with the clients branding on the video wall behind, helping to tie the event together.

A great feature of dropping virtual event entertainment into breakout rooms, is the ability to record each of them, allowing you to look back and grab the stand out moments from the performances, catching the great reactions and enjoyment from your guests.

For the main act, we booked Abandoman to stream in live to all of the guests as part of the main stream, he perform three custom songs that was inspired by a chosen number of guests. Before the event, the client shortlisted several attendees to take part in the performance and provided Abandoman with facts about each of the guests to get a good understanding of who was taking part. Just before the performance, the chosen guests were invited to a private video call with Abandoman which was then streamed live into the event where they were asked several questions for Abandoman to then create several songs. To ensure everyone felt included, we allowed people in the chat section of our platform to send in requests that could then be added into the songs. This went down a storm with all the guests in the stream, with many asking to watch it back as it was so entertaining.

The virtual event entertainment proved a great success throughout the evening and beyond. The client was over the moon with the addition of virtual event entertainment to their event, creating some form of normality to what a very new and different way of live events has become.
