Tow Show 2017

Brief:

In September, Premier once again provided full production for Tow Show 2017, an event held at Telford International Centre exhibiting the latest in technology and trucking in the towing industry. Premier became involved in the technical requirements of this event, this included an evening Gala Dinner for industry experts and businesses to come together and celebrate their hard work put into keeping roads safe and the latest advancements in its industry. Alongside this event, multiple breakout events were also seen to by Premier as part of a wider project in which we have looked after for 2 years now. These included a conference in the Wenlock Suite & 2 outdoor PA’s for the demo of truck towing and movement.

Process:

Having provided full production in previous years we wanted to ensure returning guests felt the excitement and passion for the Tow Show. As with all events, Premier go above and beyond to make sure everything is in place ready for show day.

As the setting for this event was a 40-meter-wide room, we decided the bulk of kit rigged at height must be above the stage to draw guests in and avert full attention to the stage area.

Given the brief we made use of pixel mappable light bars which ran vertical above the stage, this gave our lighting designer a lot to play with to create the desired effect.

Equipment Used:

Split between control and stage, the main bulk of Audio, Lighting & Video was found at height. As last year’s event consisted of truss rigged behind stage hanging at an angle, we wanted to have something with the same effect yet somewhat different to emphasize the ‘wow’ factor, guests expect when they go to an event.

Instead of angled truss rigged with Elation Sixbars, we opted to have dropbars with Elation Sixbars, ADJ Event Bar Pro’s and Elation Opti Tri’s. These work well as effect lights, not purposely designed to have colour on stage as such, but with our added Unique Hazer these lights really give effect and atmosphere relative to the context of the event.

For Audio we hung either side of stage, the KARA line array system. KARA is well known across the industry and with 110° horizontal directivity, it was perfect for the setting of this event.

At Front of House to operate we made use Avolites, Yamaha & Pulse video technology.

As with all our party style events, a Dancefloor really makes the difference and at Tow Show we installed a 22ft x 22ft black and white floor central to the stage and venue.

To add a finishing touch to the room, we provided LED Ice Buckets which held a bottle of wine or 2 (fully waterproof and controllable via remote!).
