Episode 8 Highlights: What’s Been Going On?
1. Woodshop Move – Week Two
The Premier Woodshop is entering its second week of operation in the new premises and continues to impress:
- Kitchen and toilets now fully operational
- Production project managers have officially moved in
- Racking installed (but we underestimated the forklift height—so we’re looking to upgrade)
2. A Day of Filming: Content, Tours & More
Ben spent most of Wednesday filming with Ella, capturing new content for social media, including:
- “What’s Behind the Door” – a quirky, quiz-style video
- Podcast Studio Promo
- “Welcome Tour” videos for:
- Premier Events
- Premier Studios
- Premier Wood Shop
The strategy? Volume + Variety. Test what works, then convert successful content into paid ads on LinkedIn. A data-driven way to grow visibility.
3. Discovery Calls on the Rise
All Premier websites now feature booking forms, enabling prospects to schedule 1:1 chats easily.
- Ben completed 4–5 calls this week
- Michael and Laura also had several
- We’re now averaging 5–10 calls weekly with new prospects
These short, informal chats are quickly becoming a powerful part of the conversion funnel—proof that Premier’s content-first approach is working.
4. Financial Check-Ins: Bank & Accountant
Ben had two important finance-related meetings this week:
- Met with the new relationship manager at the bank to strengthen ties
- Completed a final end-of-year accounts meeting with the company accountant
Premier’s financial year-end is December 31st, and all accounts are now signed off and ready for HMRC—along with the expected tax bill!
5. Exhibition Planning for 2026
Ben’s planning a three-stand strategy for next year’s major industry expos:
- Premier Woodshop → Event Production Show
- Premier Events → Confex
- Premier Content Team → PA Show
This segmented approach will allow us to target niche audiences with highly relevant offerings, and is a first for Premier, especially exhibiting at the PA Show.
6. Kiosk Business Restructure & Recruitment
As demand for registration kiosks increases thanks to effective ad campaigns, we’re scaling operations:
- Creating new workflows to manage a higher volume of jobs
- Currently recruiting an additional team member to support kiosk growth
- Ensuring the operation is scalable, repeatable, and client-ready
7. LinkedIn Optimisation in Progress
After watching a Chris Donnelly deep-dive video, Ben is now:
- Requesting new CTA banners and improved header designs from the artwork team
- Revamping his LinkedIn profile layout to align with best practice
- Targeting higher conversions from the 400–500 monthly visitors to his page
8. Uniform Cost Review
The team is now reviewing uniform costs and exploring:
- Bulk pricing options from alternative suppliers
- Comparing value vs quality across jackets, hoodies, polos, and more
- Ensuring the rollout of the new uniform is cost-effective but high impact
9. Recognition Cards Incoming
With the success of initiatives like Premier Trainers and Levi jackets, we’re levelling up:
- Designing branded recognition cards
- Cards will be handwritten and sent alongside rewards for outstanding team contributions
- A small but thoughtful touch that keeps morale high and culture strong
10. Office Space – Running Out!
With recruitment in full swing and only 3–4 spare desks remaining, space is becoming tight:
- Exploring office expansion options including:
- Knocking through walls
- Converting the green room into a workspace
- Repurposing the virtual event studio
A decision will be made soon, likely based on a combination of growth forecasting and cost feasibility.
