The Venue: Copper Box Arena

The Copper Box Arena, known for it’s role as being a London 2012 Olympic venue, was the chosen stage for this high-octane event. As an experienced AV supplier and having worked at the venue previously, we understood this venue’s challenges and opportunities. Our goal was to meet expectations and exceed them, ensuring every slam and cheer was felt more intensely by the thousands in attendance.

 

The Setup: Lighting and Audio Excellence

Our equipment list for Royal Quest III was carefully curated to match the intensity and excitement of professional wrestling. The lighting rig included:

• 12x 6-way PAR64 IWB (1kw CP95) for sharp, powerful illumination, which also kept the wrestling ring warm.
• 12x ETC Source Four 750W, ensuring every highlight and shadow played perfectly to the audience.
• 8x Chauvet Rogue R2X washes and 12x Elation Platinum Beam 5R Extremes for dynamic effects.
• An Avolites Quartz Desk to seamlessly control the visual spectacle.

On the audio front, our setup was designed to capture and amplify both the hosts and walk-up music.

• 12x L-Acoustics KARA line array speakers and powerful SB18 and SB28 subwoofers provide rich, immersive sound.
• 6x LA8 amplifiers and a Yamaha QL1 desk for unmatched audio control.
• 2x Radio mic channels to ensure clear and uninterrupted communication for announcements and commentary.

The ground support climbing package (12x12x8m) was a critical component, providing the necessary rigging for lights and audio equipment to enhance the visual and auditory experience without interfering with the action.

 

Logistics and Execution

Coordinating such an extensive setup required meticulous planning and execution. Our team included nine dedicated technicians and six local crew members working tirelessly on the installation and de-rig processes. Equipment was transported to the site in a 44T artic truck, ensuring everything arrived safely and on schedule.
