We were approached by the wonderful events team at the Leicester Racecourse to completely kit out their Pavilion marquee so that we could show the public what the pavilion has to offer when it comes to getting married there.
The Pavilion now has a full wedding license, so you can hold your ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception all in the same spot, which for many is a more enjoyable day when you don’t have to worry about logistics.
We chose to set the Pavilion up as a ceremony and a wedding breakfast to really show the attendees what they could achieve in the marquee.
For the ceremony, we used 20 limewash chiavari chairs down one side of the aisle and dressed them with white ruffle hoods. Separated with our white carpet aisle runner, we took our brand-new cross back dark wood chairs and asked the florist at The Flower Plant to add some pew ends to them, which Kathryn did so wonderfully.
Behind the registrar table we put up our new flower wall which consists of white, cream and blush pink roses, the flower wall really is our little show stopper. To finish off the ceremony area, we placed clear vases with pillar candles and ivory petals along the edges of the aisle and to the left of the aisle we installed our 5ft LOVE Letters.
We then set up 6 tables and decorated them differently to give the attendees the best vision of their day possible. The first table consisted of what you would get in the basic package when hiring the pavilion for your wedding day. The racecourse provided their linen, cutlery and crookery and we provided chair covers with an organza sash and a chrome 5-arm candelabra.
Another table we decorate with rose gold sequin table cloth, a clear glass and floating candle centre piece and limewash chaivari chairs with dusky pink ruffle hoods. We finished this table with rose beaded charger plates and tea lights. We then added a rustic style table where we used our cross-back chairs with roses added to them for decoration. We paired these with a cream lace overlay and silver beaded charger plates. The Flower Plant kindly provided a centrepiece using real flowers and brown bottles.
With the aim of suiting all attendee’s different budgets, we set up two very simple blush pink tables one with a blush pink runner, and chairs covers with blush pink satin sash and another with our famous ghost chairs, rose gold sequin runner and The Flower Plant provided a beautiful rose gold candelabra and flower arrangement.
The last table we set up was the ‘winter style’ table. We used a white table cloth and navy sequin table runner. Paired with our ice chiavari chairs and dressed with navy chiffon drops and silver brooch.
Of course though, weddings aren’t all about table décor. We installed our Elation Sixbars and set them to pink to bring a bit of colour to the crisp white marquee. Our pallet bar looked simply stunning at the back of the marquee next to our Magic Selfie Mirror. With everything in place, the marquee looked fabulous and the racecourse staff were thrilled with our efforts.
We didn’t stop there though, just outside of the marquee is a wonderful seating area where we had arranged to have our LED tree set up. We used our Festoon lighting to outline the way, bring light and atmosphere to the outside area facing the paddock.
Overall the showcase was a fantastic day, with the racecourse getting 6 provisional bookings just from their open day. We are looking forward to being apart of these future bookings and continuining our working relationship with the racecourse.
