Premier supported Helen and Tom with their wedding at the Old infant school in loughborough

Helen and Tom were the bride and groom at this stunning winter wonderland themed wedding at the Old Infant School in Loughborough.

We were approached by Helen and Tom about 12 months before their wedding reception was due to take place. They had already secured a venue but needed a company to work with to make it into a ‘wedding venue’.

As well as items from our own warehouse we also provided Helen & Tom with the all-important bar!

The Mobile Bar and its staff set up the day before the wedding and were the first to arrive and the last to leave on the day.  They provided beer, wine, soft drinks and cocktails throughout the day. The mobile bar came with the structure itself, the glassware, the staff and the products so Helen and Thomas didn’t need to worry about a thing in terms of making sure their guests had a drink in their hands.

Premier UK Events provided Helen and Thomas with a variety of Window Dressing, Entrance Dressing and Full Ceiling Dressing. The Ceiling Draping included Fairy Lights to give that magical and wintery feel to the venue. Draping can absolutely transform a venue, which was perfect for the chosen venue, The Old Infant School.

Like most winter weddings, our Snowflake Projection is a must! During the wedding breakfast the snowflakes were projected on to the far walls and were static to give that winter wedding feel. During the reception with the use of blue uplighting the flawless winter scene was created. This image projection was mounted on Truss Podiums and White Truss Socks to cover the structures. We also placed an uplight under the truss sock to add a blue colour to the structure.

Helen and Thomas decided to book one of our highly experienced wedding DJ’s to entertain their guests at the wedding reception. Nigel is an exceptionally talented wedding DJ who we have worked with for over 10 years. Helen and Thomas chose to use our online music playlist generator, this allowed them to gather all their favourite songs for the big day beforehand and let Nigel know which the important songs are, including their First Dance.

In terms of lighting we placed 32x LED battens around the room and in between the windows. Helen and Thomas had them set to blue to match the colour scheme and add to the winter feel.

Helen and Thomas also booked with Premier Casino Tables at the reception (in a different room) so that guests had that extra something to look forward to. Roulette and Blackjack were the chosen games of the evening and they were a great success! They were the ideal extra to make the day memorable. For the Casino element of the wedding to really stand out we installed Black LED Starcloths in the Casino Room. This added that glamorous feel and made the Casino Room more appealing.

For the evening reception we laid a 12x12ft White Starlit Dance Floor, it bought the whole room together and was a focal point to the reception. The floor had been cleaned and maintained by the crew before the wedding to ensure a sparkling and polished finish.

Our Limewash Chiavari Chairs are the finishing touch to any themed wedding; they work incredibly well for rustic and vintage themed weddings as well as for more contemporary weddings. These were positioned both in the lounge area of the venue as well as in the main hall.

In the bar and lounge area we provided 5x Aluminium Poseur Tables and 5x 3ft Round Tables. This space was used by guests wanting to take a break from the dancing and to catch up with friends and relatives throughout the day.

Mood lighting was also installed in the bar, lounge and casino room to avoid the need to use the ‘strip lighting’ on the ceiling of the venue. We installed a number of Fresnel lighting units in each area which were attached to a dimmer allowing us to have full control of the lighting in each room.

On the Day Coordination

Premier UK Events also provided Helen and Thomas with On the Day Coordination; this ensures that the bride and groom can fully enjoy their wedding experience with not a worry in sight (because that’s what we do). Claire was the point of contact for the day and this applied to pretty much everyone in the building, the bride and groom, the suppliers, the event crew and the guests. Claire put together an event schedule to ensure that all the suppliers such as the florist, the cake, the cars (need I go on…) were all in the right place at the right time.

Final touches were in progress the morning of the wedding and this consisted of lighting the candles, final table decorations and of course meet and greet. Claire also managed the room turnaround, when the dance floor was laid and other activities took place. All in all, Helen and Thomas could rest assure that everyone and everything were in the right place at the right time, creating a stress free wedding day.
