The event called Project Woodside is a charity evening with the purpose of raising money for the RSPCA and was held at The City Rooms.

The focal point for the event was the stage, which the entertainer and DJ used throughout the evening as well as for the speeches. The stage itself was 5m x 2m in size and carpeted in black carpet to ensure that it looked exceptionally smart.  A 6m x 4m black ShowLED starcloth was positioned behind the stage to act as a backdrop.

Premier provided all of the audio for the event; this included an L-Acoustics PA system. The front of house system was made up using two 12XT’s and two SB18 subwoofers. An 8XT speaker was also used as a monitor for the entertainer. 2 channels of Sennheiser EW300 G3 radio microphones were used on the night. A Yamaha LS9-16 digital desk was used to process all of the audio inputs and distribute it to an L-Acoustics LA8 amplifier.

Lighting was an important part of the event and the City Rooms tall ceiling allowed us to be creative with it. To uplight the walls of the venue we used 15 of our Showtec 1m LED battens, these were set to a purple colour and really helped to transform the venue. To add some colour to the ceiling in the venue we installed four of our super bright 480W LED floods, these were also set to a purple colour.

To light the entertainment and DJ on the evening we installed two ETC Source 4 Jnr profile lights. These were hooked up to a dimmer allowing the client to increase and decrease the brightness of these lights as required throughout the event.

The event was a great success and raised £3,500 for the charity and Premier were happy to support Barrie in his efforts.
