    A global food retail client that we have worked with previously approached us for assistance with another corporate awards dinner event. Having worked with the client before, we were more than happy to help.

    The event included 150 franchisees, an awards ceremony, a three course meal and entertainment.

    The client had already booked the prestigious venue that was Wentworth Golf Course, but we were asked to provide a Gatsby/1920’s themed evening, and manage all other aspects of the event including the following:


    Premier produced several proposals outlining décor ideas, visual and audio recommendations, and entertainment options. All proposals were provided with images, costs and various options per concept.

    Our design team created two set and stage 3D visuals for us to send to the client beforehand. These are a great way to show the client exactly what it is that we are visualising for the event.

    Once all the decisions had been finalised it was a case of getting all of the suppliers booked and organising the logistics for the event.

    On the Day

    On the day, 3 members of the Event Management team headed down to Wentworth Golf Club and proceeded to set the venue for the event. We had a full production team on site  working on lighting, sound and video along with various crew members helping with the set up and rehearsals.

    The event management team ensured that all suppliers arrived in good time and provided all of the equipment that was agreed beforehand. The team also ensured that all suppliers knew where they needed to be at what times, when they would receive catering, and were on hand for any other questions that the suppliers had on the day.

    The guests were expected to arrive from 6.15pm ready for a drinks reception and the awards ceremony was due to start at 7.30pm. The three course meal was served between the awards, along with various 1920’s entertainment.


    Premier organised coaches for the guests, from their accommodation to the venue, to ensure a prompt and stress free arrival and Premier’s team were onsite to coordinate all transfers.


    Venue – Premier organised a cloakroom with Wentworth and doormen to welcome guests as they arrived.

    Décor – For arrival we organised simple signage in keeping with the theme, to guide franchisees from the coaches to the lounge/bar area for the drinks reception.

    Entertainment – Gatsby Girls were dressed in 1920’s attire to welcome guests and show them to the lounge area where the drinks reception was taking place.


    Venue – We organised with Wentworth for each guest to receive 4 canapes and 2 glasses of prosecco and elderflower.

    Décor – 1920’s props were positioned, for example a chaise lounge for the singer, and other props such as Art Deco Palm Trees, Antique Gramophones, Vintage Typewriters and Hat Boxes.

    Entertainment –  A female jazz singer welcomed the guests with a number of songs during the drinks reception. We also provided 3 gentlemen who performed acrobatics using props such as umbrellas and top hats in the lounge area.

    Production – Premier installed audio equipment for all entertainment depending on their riders, including speakers and microphones, as well as video screens to display the table plans on. We also installed uplighters around the lounge to add some colour and atmosphere.

    Dinner and Awards Ceremony

    Production – Premier provided all lighting, sound and video for the awards dinner, which the Premier technical team managed from the control position throughout the event. This also included a stage and a Gatsby designed set with added props. There were 65” plasmas either side of the stage for repeater screens to show award winners.

    Décor – For a Gatsby theme we organised black napkins and table cloths on 6ft round tables with gold and black ostrich feather centre pieces. Each table had a printed menu and table number. Each attendee had a goody bag waiting for them at their allocated seat, which contained a box of chocolates, a printed coaster, fun money for the casino and a thank you note. The room was decorated with more Gatsby/1920s props and uplighting. We used gold chiavari chairs with black pads to add colour to the tables.

    Entertainment – The Master of Ceremonies called all guests through to dinner and introduced the event host to the stage. The 6 Gatsby Girls danced during the main course, before another set of awards was presented, then the dry ice dessert followed shortly after. The final set of awards were announced with the final award being celebrated with Confetti Canons. We organised for the final act of the evening to interrupt the closing speech with a ‘drunken’ surprise, which ended in three opera singers to close the show.

    After Dinner

    Entertainment – For after dinner, we organised a DJ to play background music and opened the fun casino and magic selfie mirrors. Franchisees then proceeded to leave their tables and head to the bar and games area.

    Production – Our DJ plugged into the high-quality sound system that Premier had installed earlier in the day. They also controlled the ‘disco lighting’ for the after party.


    Coaches were organised to take guests back to arranged hotels. Premier’s management team were onsite to coordinate transfers.


    The event overall was huge success. We received excellent feedback and we were glad to be able to experience our client thoroughly enjoying the event that we had organised together over the previous months.
