We recently supported a client with a number of event branding ideas and solutions for their annual event held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
Creating “on brand” print and digital media and installing this at strategic positions in the venue can play a huge part in the overall success of delivering the clients message at an event. Get the branding right and delegates feel included in the entire event, not just in the conference room.
For this event we utilised a number of different event branding methods, which when used together allowed delegates to be fully immersed in the event. So what did we do?
Large Format Baffle Walls
The Palace Suite at the venue was initially used by delegates for breakfast and lunch. Due to the size of the venue, any branding installed would need to be large. Our team installed two structures made from a modular system, that we stock, which we could apply branded graphics to.
The structures were 16m in length and 2.75m tall. In order to minimise the number of joins in the print we utilised a tension fabric material. This allowed us to just have a single join over a 16m distance which we were able to seamlessly join with the second graphic.
Golden Pillows
The name for the evening element of the event was the ‘Golden Pillow Awards”, with a theme decided we were able to create a number of related event branding solutions.
Our team designed and built two huge polystyrene golden pillows with the client’s logo applied to them. Round bases and support poles were also created allowing us to elevate these golden pillows to ensure that they were eye catching. By positioning them in the entrance foyer of the Monarch Suite, guests were able to pose for selfies with the pillows and share them on social media. Our team also installed black wool serge drape behind the pillows to ensure that they stood out. We think that they looked pretty cool…..
Table Numbers
Instead of using traditional table numbers for the awards element of the evening, we incorporated the gold colour scheme and installed gold balloons with the table numbers printed on them. The gold worked really well with the black linen and gold table runners that we also provided.
One of the main benefits of using balloons as table centres is that drunk guests can take them with them at the end of the night and clients don’t get stung with expensive replacement bills for stolen table centres (trust us, this happens a lot).
Pillar Wraps
With many venues incorporating pillars into their design we have a number of solutions available to us which allows for them to be covered in the branding of the event. Depending on the size and material used to construct the pillars this is typically either a vinyl, Foamex wrap or tension fabric using a modular system.
For this event we utilised Foamex, this cost-effective solution allows us to change the look and feel of an event space. If you use the same venue and branding at multiple events we would highly recommend tension fabric as this can be easily re-used and so more environmentally friendly.
