We provided AV support for a dinner in the historic Trinity House at De Montfort University on the 20th May 2016. The event was to celebrate the naming of their new building. Having worked with the events team at DMU previously on past events held at Trinity House we were delighted to be asked to provide AV support for this special event.

Having met the client on site to discuss their ideas for the event our projects team came back to the office and created an itemised quotation outlining all of the AV elements that they would require to meet the brief and make the event a success.

To add some additional lighting to the venue as guests arrived we installed four of our super bright LED flood lights. These units provide 49x 10W LED’s which add colour to the external walls of a building. The LED floods are IP65 rated and so can be used even in the rain.

As guests made their way into the venue our team had illuminated the walls of the reception area using 6x Elation SixBar 1000 LED uplighters. This created a warm welcoming entrance area for guests to enter.

In the gallery area of the venue we supplied four of our illuminated Poseur Tables for guests to stand around and mingle. Lighting was added to the walls using eight of our wireless LED uplighters. These chrome plated battery powered lights are ideal to use in the gallery where there is limited 13amp sockets.

It was in the Chapel itself that guests would spend most of their time and so we focused most of our attention in this area. In the Pews area we supplied 6 of our Sixbar 1000 uplighters to create a warm white glow. This was to replace their cool white floods that get used day to day.

In the chapel area we supplied 30 hanging pendants from the ceiling, these were fitted with LED imitation filament lamps to create a small warm white glow in the central area. To light the edges of the room we supplied 8 compact pars to create a red tint around the room. We did this by having 2 compact pars in each corner one on red and the other on white to make sure the room wasn’t just lit red, which would have given the evening a creepy feeling.

During the event the client wanted to run a PowerPoint presentation with a video embedded. We supplied a Panasonic full HD 50” screen on a parabella stand and a dedicated show laptop to ensure there were no unwanted pop ups during the event. For the audio from the laptop we supplied two L-Acoustics 8XT speakers to ensure everyone was able to hear the video clearly.

Illuminated table centers and sequin table runners were also supplied by Premier to help with the finishing touches.

Throughout the event itself we supplied one of our project managers to ensure that everything ran smoothly.

The client was delighted with the end result, their feedback is below:

Just wanted to thank you for your support on the event this evening! The chapel look absolutely fantastic and Rich and the guys have been superb!

Have a great weekend. All the best
