During one of our busiest weeks in 2014 our Conference team ran six back-to-back productions in the space of seven days. One of these events involved an overnight drive to South Wales, where our team worked through the night to install a full conference package in time for the morning rehearsals.
Before the event our in house production designer created the above image which visualised to the client what we proposed to create on the day for the event. Apart from a slight change in the orange felt which was signed off before the event what we designed and subsequently delivered for our client was identical.
Premier provided a full 32’ x 10’ set in a custom colour scheme requested by our client, along with a L’Acoustics 12XT PA, Yamaha LS9 Digital Desk, Source Four stage wash lighting, and a Panasonic 5.6K HD projector with additional 50” LCD screens as displays around the room.
Unusually we also installed two separate stages both in front and behind the set. This was in preparation for an incredibly tight room turnaround later in the day.
Throughout the conference our video engineer was kept busy using our Analog Way Pulse to seamlessly switch between multiple presentations and videos on several laptops. Despite the complexity of the situation, all content was shown on screen at the correct times with no interruption for the presenters. Our Sound engineer also had his hands full, especially during a live Q&A session with multiple handheld and lavalier G3 microphones being used. Again, thanks to his preparation, no issues or feedback were encountered.
After the conference had finished, we had an hour and a half window to transform the room ready for the evening cabaret dinner and entertainment. Our team set about dismantling the set, projection and screens, PA, and lighting whilst negotiating the hotel staff, band, DJ, and other performers. On top of all of this, we also had two halves of pre-built stage to join in position and re-carpet. Our team completed this hectic transformation in just under half an hour, resulting in a very happy client.
