Conference and Expo at CBS Arena

Premier supported with a conference and expo at the Coventry Building Society (CBS) arena.

Creating an engaging and immersive conference within an empty arena is no easy task. However, Premier events took this in their stride for this project.

This was to be their first in-person conference since COVID, and we wanted to deliver an unforgettable experience for the guest speakers and sales advisors (delegates). The event ran over 3 days, with a build and rehearsal day ahead of the event.

This event required a plenary and an exhibition space, which needed a full solution to provide CAD designs, Production and Power. Taking the client brief from concept to realisation.

The Main Conference

Taking inspiration from the Apple WWDC Keynote, we decided on a rear LED wall spanning 10 meters and 3.5m high. This was Flanked on either side by 2 x 1.5m x 3.5m LED Walls creating striking branding opportunities for the brands.

As we were in an empty hall, we needed to install a full 360 production solution. This included:

• Draping the space to create a black box and a blank canvas
• L-Acoustics Kara system to fill the room with immersive sound
• 27 moving lights
• 12 LED battens to trim the bottom of the LED
• 14m x 5m Stage
• 2 x Sony FS7’s one on a tripod and one handheld on a roaming basis with a wireless RF System for event capture and IMAG relay.
• Front fill into the stage and a separate riser for comfort monitors to keep a clean downstage edge
• Custom hard facia in an on-brand colour for the stage

The brands wanted to rebrand the room for each session, so working with the video content and our lighting designer we utilised the production in the room to create different looks for each brand.

All video switching and routing was taken care of with one Barco S3, and brand content was created to the custom resolution to fill the screen.

 

Exhibition Space

The Exhibition is a key opportunity for the brands to showcase their products and for delegates to get hands-on, whilst the Coventry Building Society is a great venue and has loads of space; fitting in all the brands and giving the brands and delegates space to move around was challenge. This required careful consideration for the layout and the power drops, Each stand required at least a 16amp single, but some needed a 32/3.

We didn’t want trailing cables and big distros on show, so we designed the stands to allow for simple cable routing and easy access. With the event space, we also installed a simple PA with wireless microphones for background music and also announcements,

The Client feedback was incredibly positive and the delegate thoroughly enjoyed the event.
