The City Rooms – Wedding

Premier provided a wide range of AV solutions for this wedding at the city rooms

We were approached by the groom for this wedding which took place at The City Rooms in Leicester in June 2015. Premier were asked to provide AV support for the wedding ceremony, breakfast and reception. Having met the client at the venue our team provided the bride and groom with a fully itemised quotation.

 

Wedding Ceremony

For the Wedding breakfast we installed an L-Acoustics PA system comprising of 2x L-Acoustics 8XT speakers on visually appealing round base stands. Music was played through the PA system as guests arrived at the venue as well as for when the bride walked down the aisle.

 

Wedding Breakfast

For the wedding breakfast which also took place in the ballroom at The City Rooms our on-site team added an additional 2x L-Acoustics 8XT speakers. The additional speakers allowed us to provide an even spread of sound throughout the venue.

Background music was played throughout the wedding breakfast as well as a wireless hand held microphone which was used for the speeches. Our sound engineer was on hand to ensure that all guests could hear the speech and that there was no ‘feedback’ from the microphone.

 

Wedding Reception

The client had not wanted to book a DJ for the wedding reception and had instead created a video playlist of songs from the 1940’s onwards. To ensure that guests could see all of the music videos we installed a 10’ 8” x 6’ projector screen into the Ballroom. We used an ultra-short throw 2,700 lumen projector to display the music videos on the screen, all of which was powered by an Apple MacBook Pro with playback pro software.

The PA system that was used for the wedding breakfast was ‘beefed up’ with the addition of 2x L-Acoustics SB18 subwoofers for additional low end support. This provided a superb sounding PA system to play the clients choice of tracks on.

For the lighting we installed our ‘nightclub lighting package’ which consists of 4x Elation Platinum Spot 5R moving heads on 2m tall illuminated truss podiums. This package provided the client with an out of the box solution for their lighting needs.

 

The wedding itself ran exceptionally smoothly, one of our engineers was on site at The City Rooms for duration of the wedding to ensure that everything ran to time.
