Christmas Party at St Georges Park

Premier supplied AV and decor for a corporate Christmas party at St Georges Park in Burton

Brief

Having worked with Risual Ltd on their exhibition stand in November, they approached us to design and install their Christmas Party at Hilton St Georges Park, Burton.

The brief was to create a winter wonderland for a sit down meal and speeches then to create an industrial nightclub and corridor theming which matched the exhibition stand. Our Projects Assistant Cait worked with our client to ensure that all of their requirements were met for their event.

Pre-Production

To ensure that our client could visualise the effect that we intended to create, one of our Projects Assistants put together a bespoke event proposal, including images with the winter wonderland and industrial theme. The proposal also detailed important elements such as:

• Costs
• Timings
• Equipment

As we have installed a similar Winter Wonderland for many events in the past, we were able to send through photos of previous examples.

From here, we were able to meet our client at the venue and work with them to decide which elements fit their brief. Together we decided to include components like Snowflake Image Projection, White Uplighting and Draping.

As requested by our client, we worked with our technical team to create three different sound systems for three different DJs. This included a main room, a dance nightclub room and a chill out area.

The finalised equipment included the following key features, including a bespoke industrial structure which we fabricated in house:

• 3m x 1m Scaff Tables and Risual Oil Drums (from the exhibition stand)
• White Draping, White Table Centres and Table Pin Spotting (for the winter wonderland theme)
• Black Draping, Nightclub Lighting and Corrugated Metal Deckstand Booths (for the industrial theme)

We also worked with Risual to manage their video content for the evening speeches. We were sent through different videos and when they needed playing so that our technicians could manage this on site to ensure that the right videos were played at the right time.

Build

At 6am on the morning of the party, ten members of our event crew headed to Hilton St Georges Park, Burton to start the build. Our team started by installing the White Drape around the perimeter of the room, this was finished with a Plain White Dance Floor and Ice White Uplighting to create the feel of winter. We then projected snowflakes onto the drape and used table pin spotting to highlight the tables. We then placed 20cm LED Spheres onto the centre of the tables for table centres.

For the industrial nightclub, we installed Black Drape and a Plain Black Dance Floor as well as placing Oil Drums to add to the theme. We also installed an L-Acoustics KARA PA system, creating an incredibly loud sound system, as requested by our client. To finish the nightclub, we installed some Moving Head Lights on Truss Podiums. In the corridor, we installed a 6m x 2m Black Stage for the band and placed Wireless Uplights lining the walls.

To assist our client with the organisation of the event, our Projects Assistant liaised with other suppliers, arranging a Photo Booth and Pallet Furniture to match the theme.

As a finishing touch, we created a freestanding structure which incorporated the same lighting from their exhibition stand to truly match their industrial theme.
