Childcare East Midlands – Awards Ceremony

Premier provided AV support for the Childcare East Midlands 2016 awards ceremony

Brief

For the second year running, we were approached back in April by Childcare East Midlands to put together a proposal for their annual Summer Ball and Awards event at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Nottingham.

The brief was to supply PA, lighting, video, illuminated letters and stage & set for a sit down meal and speeches then to create a party atmosphere with the lighting, audio and one of our amazing DJ’s afterwards. Our projects team worked with our client to ensure that all of their requirements were met for their event.

Pre-Production

Our Technical Director, Jon, was the point of the contact from start to finish from taking the initial enquiry right the way through to coordinating the event on the evening. As he’d worked on the events in previous years, Jon already had an idea of the requirements for the event. He met our client on site at the venue to discuss her requirements and they worked together to make decisions like lighting colours, set colour, placement of equipment etc. From here we were able to put together a final quotation which was perfect for the event.

Build

On the day of the event, our team members headed to Nottingham to begin the install of the equipment.

We installed our stage and screens at the back of the venue which were completed by a white set. These were illuminated by our Elation Sixbar uplights and finished by two truss podiums either side.

Two more of these were placed at the front of the dance floor and next to giant award statues that were supplied by the client. To really accentuate this feature, we used our wireless Event Spots at the bases.

An L-Acoustics sound system consisting primarily of 8XT’s was placed around the room to ensure that sound was distributed equally during the awards and the evening party.

As a finishing touch, we supplied the illuminated letters ‘C-E-M’ which were placed next to the stage.

During the event, two of our experienced technicians managed the video, lighting and sound for the duration of the evening.

DJ Nigel maintained the lively atmosphere, entertaining the delegates after the awards ceremony.

Result
