Charity Gala Dinner

Premier supported Norfolk based charity NARS with their summer ball as part of the Norfolk Show Ball

Brief

Back in October we were approached by NARS (Norfolk Accident Rescue Service) to put together a proposal for their annual Norfolk Show Ball at the Norfolk Showground.

The brief was to supply PA, Lighting and Staging for a sit down meal and speeches then to create a party atmosphere with a Dance Floor and Lighting afterwards. Our projects team worked with our client to ensure that all of their requirements were met for their event.

Pre-Production

To ensure that our client could visualise the effect that we intended to create, our projects team put together a bespoke event proposal, including images of the equipment we thought would work well. The proposal also detailed important elements such as:

• Costs
• Timings
• Equipment

As we have installed similar events in the past, we were able to send through photos of previous examples which the client found exceptionally useful.

From here, we were able to arrange a meeting with our client and work together to decide which elements fit their brief. Together we decided to include components including Intelligent Lighting, Plasma Screens and a Plain Black Dance Floor.

We also worked with NARS to manage their video content for the event. This included filming the occasion and the supplying the client with the finished content afterwards.

Build

On the morning of the Tuesday, three days before the event, two of our team members headed to Norfolk to begin the install of 150m of White Drape which was to be installed in the Pavilion at the Showground.  Wednesday and Thursday focused on the install of the remaining equipment which included 8 x 50” Panasonic Displays, a Truss Box and Staging. A variety of Lighting equipment was fixed to the structures

We used an L-Acoustics KARA line array system to fulfil the entertainment’s rider and also to ensure a crisp and clear sound throughout the venue.

On the Friday, the day of the event, three of our experienced technicians managed the Video, Lighting and Sound for the duration of the evening.

Result

The finished event looked fantastic. Jon, our Technical Director, commented on the event saying ‘It was a privilege to work with such a life-changing charity on this prestigious event. Everything came together and the marquee looked great, we provided seamless AV coverage to every seat and a good night was had by all!’
