We were contacted by a private client late last year to assist with a joint 30th and 60th birthday party at Stapleford Park in Leicestershire. Premier Events are a preferred supplier to Stapleford Park, and we had been recommended to provide the event production, theming and full event management for their event.
We immediately contacted the client and met them for a meeting and site visit where we discussed their arrangement to have exclusive use of the hotel for the evening This meant that we had the whole site to work with to bring their vision to life. The theme of the evening was ‘Life is an Illusion’.
Once we had discussed the brief with the client, we set to work on creating a bespoke proposal which would bring together the ideas from the client along with a touch of our creative flair.
We utilised our in-house design team to create a 3D render of the Grand Hall dinner to help the client to visualise how their ideas would come together for the evening.
We recommended that the perimeter walls be draped in starcloth and silver voile, with the ceiling covered in a lightweight black and silver cloth, as this would create a real sense of magic. We also used our Victoria Ghost chairs and LED table numbers to complete the look.
On the day, this transformed the Grand Hall and made a huge impact as guests entered for dinner.
In terms of print, we briefed our preferred supplier to produce some lenticular menus which tied in with the theme of magic for the evening.
Entertainment was a huge part of the event and the client had a very clear idea of what they were looking for. This gave the Premier team a great start in using our experience to book the very best performers for the evening.
To tie in with the ‘Life is an Illusion’ theme of the event, we booked Ben Hanlin the magician to perform after dinner. In the past, Ben has performed for the likes of Gary Barlow and Kim Kardashian, and so he brought a huge amount of charisma to the stage. Having liaised with him beforehand, the Premier team were able to work with Ben to arrange a personalised trick incorporating the guests of honour on the evening. Premier’s own Event Assistant Amy even demonstrated how flexible we are as a team and acted as Ben’s assistant during his set.
Having learnt during our initial discussions that the clients were huge aviation enthusiasts, we proposed an aerial firework display during the evening. This involved a huge amount of planning both beforehand and on the evening. However, the result was spectacular, and guests were wowed by the unique display.
To round off the evening, we booked one of our favourite party bands to perform in the Saloon. We also utilised the adjacent Harborough room for an after-party bar. We installed our rustic pallet bar and magic selfie mirror, which were both very popular with guests.
Premier provided a team of four experienced event managers on the evening to oversee the setup and evenings event. We liaised with the venue and all suppliers during the day to ensure that everything ran smoothly. This meant the client could relax knowing that everything was taken care of.
‘Can you pass on my thanks to everyone who made the event happen. The whole evening went very well and the icing on the cake was two very brave people in the sky. All our guests will remember this for a very long time!’
‘Thanks for organising everything yesterday. We had an awesome time; everything went according to plan and everyone was very complimentary of how smoothly everything went.’
